Arsenal have launched their Puma home kit for the 2015-16 season, with some special help from Thierry Henry and current stars at the Emirates Stadium.

The red and white strip was unveiled at a packed event outside the home ground on Monday night, and is Puma’s second with the Gunners after starting a £30million-a-year kit deal last year.

Santi Cazorla, Nacho Monreal, Hector Bellerin, Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck joined Henry to help reveal the new kit, which Arsene Wenger will hope his side are successful in next season as they aim for more major honours.

The atmosphere outside the Emirates Stadium was similar to that of a match day, such was amount of fans and their desire to get a glimpse of their heroes.

Supporters belted out Arsenal chants as the countdown started on the stage before fireworks and confetti greeted the five stars.

Bellerin said: ‘It’s really nice, obviously red and white like people like it. It’s got some nice features, bit stylish, I think it’s going to look really good on all the fans.’

And Welbeck was also complimentary about the strip, adding: ‘I like it. It’s a bit classic, it’s not as tight as last season so I can breathe on the pitch.’

Arsenal claimed their second FA Cup in succession after defeating Aston Villa at Wembley last month, though finished 12 points adrift of champions Chelsea in the Premier League.

Rosicky, who also modelled the strip in front of the fans, said there were more important things than fashion for the players next season.

‘I think there is only one aim from us – to win the title,’ he said. ‘I have to say the squad is really big so the talent is there.’

Cazorla echoed his fellow midfielder’s claims and stressed that the Gunners can kick on with some work in the transfer market.

‘The most important thing is to improve next year,’ the Spaniard added. ‘Of course we can win the Premier League. If we sign some good players, we will be even stronger.’

Spectators were queuing up outside the Emirates Stadium long before the event started at around 9.30pm, while fans from around the world were able to watch the spectacular launch via a Puma live stream.

Henry played the role of host next to Nigel Mitchell at the event, entertaining fans and posing for selfies. The former France striker is the club’s record scorer and flourished in his fair share of kits, admitting that he remembers two in particular very fondly.

‘I had some favourite kits throughout the years – it’s kind of difficult to change, it’s always going to be red and white! We changed some little stuff, but it obviously still looks like at Arsenal.

‘I remember the burgundy one – that last year at Highbury was always going to be special, it was a special place for me. I also liked the gold kit, we never lost a game in it.’
