Premier League team of the weekend: Liverpool and Arsenal stars feature in Redknapp’s XI

It was an action packed weekend of Premier League action, with Manchester City’s draw with Tottenham the eye-catching clash.

City thought they’d won after Gabriel Jesus’ 94th minute goal.

However, VAR ruled it out after it was deemed Aymeric Laporte handled the ball in the build up.

Spurs ended up stealing a point at the Etihad despite City dominating every aspect of the game.

Elsewhere, Arsenal edged past Burnley, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette netting for the Gunners.

Dani Ceballos started his first game under Unai Emery, with the Real Madrid loanee setting up both goals.

Liverpool beat Southampton at St Mary’s, with former Saints star Sadio Mane playing a part in both goals.

The winger netted just before half time before setting up Roberto Firmino.

Everton edged past Watford in a narrow 1-0 win, while Brighton and West Ham drew 1-1.

Bournemouth came out on top at Aston Villa, with Eddie Howe’s men winning 2-1.

Newly-promoted Norwich secured their first win of the season thanks to Teemu Pukki.

Last season’s Championship top scorer netted a hat-trick against Newcastle as Norwich bounced back from their hammering at Liverpool on the opening day.

On Sunday, Sheffield United beat Crystal Palace 1-0 before Chelsea and Leicester’s stalemate at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took the lead early with Mason Mount’s goal, however, Wilfried Ndidi – who was at fault for the Blues’ opener – equalised in the second half.

Manchester United are in action on Monday night as the Red Devils travel to Wolves.

And Redknapp has revealed his Premier League team of the weekend, with Ceballos, Mane, De Bruyne and Pukki all making the cut.

Roy Keane slammed Arsenal for their ‘over the top’ celebrations after beating Newcastle 4-0 at the Emirates on Sunday.

Alexandre Lacazette was mobbed by his team-mates after scoring the Gunners’ fourth and final goal in injury-time, shortly after coming on as a late substitute.

Keane was asked about Arsenal’s reaction to their victory over Newcastle and said the club shouldn’t be celebrating beating a side of the Magpies’ stature.

‘That was way over the top,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘I thought they were 10 points clear at the top of the league the way they were celebrating at the end.

Despite Keane’s damning view, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reserved praise for summer signing Nicolas Pepe after his impressive display on Sunday.

‘We just need consistency from him. The way he applied himself defensively he was top drawer, things he wasn’t doing in the past.’

Arsenal remain in 10th place despite their win and are still seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with 12 games remaining.
